The colour scale on the maps compares all areas across England.
You can view data on the map at 3 levels:
- Local Authority
- Middle layer Super Output
- Lower layer Super Output
To move between these levels, zoom in and out.
When you move from one level to the next, the quintiles will change to reflect this.
How the quintiles are calculated
The colours on the map are based on grouping all areas across England into 20% bands. So the top 20% of areas on an indicator are shaded dark red, the next 20% shaded light red, and so on.
