Tolerance and generalisation of boundaries

The custom areas generated using the shapefile may look different in Local Insight than it does in another GIS platform, because of the generalisation of boundaries. This is a measure of how precisely defined the edges of the areas are. We have chosen the current level of specificity in order to optimise area creation and data aggregation for those areas - the more detailed the area, the higher the strain on our system.

Please note: The generalisation of boundaries will be the same for each area and will not be editable.
